Our Story
Then Until NowHow We Met
Online. That’s right, we met online on a dating site when it was still a daring thing to do and there was no swiping in either direction and when catfishing, gaslighting and ghosting had not become a ‘thing’ yet. I would like to think of us as pioneers, rather than just old and dateless.
I had just taken down my profile because I was coming across some truly nutty humans and I was deeply disappointed in the lack of effort by most people who take bad selfies in a poorly lit room and post that and a few scant and misspelled words to really put their best foot forward and find the girl of their dreams.
So when I got a lovely long email from a 39 year old who liked my profile and told me exactly why and expressed disappointment that my profile had gone, I had to go and check him out. He had posted lots of photos as had I, and I understood that this was a person with friends and interests and a dry humour I could relate to. And a shared love of Monty Python. Job done!
Dating Profile Photos
These are some of the photos we had on our profiles. I love the many shades of Nat: beard, no beard, seal, large industrial power tools!
Dates, Holidays, Life
The next few years were busy having wonderful dates and time together, making lots of Gin & Tonics, meeting new friends, and travel adventures. Nat moving in with me in the city, renovating Nat’s house, housewarmings, lots of parties, meeting family and family visits to Australia and surprise New Year kittens.

TURKEY - JUNE 2014The Rest is History
Quite long history as it happens. Well, life has been good to us as we have continued to enjoy travels, visits from family and friends and lots of gatherings.
We were never in a hurry to get married. It’s the thought that counts. And besides, we weren’t going to do it until everybody in Australia could get married. So when that happened in 2017, we decided to look for wedding venues in 2018, found a good one too.
And then after I got to look after Nat with a burst appendix for a whole week early on, he got to look after me for the end of 2018 and all through 2019. He and Gilli, my tireless care team did an amazing job. And so who better to give me away to Nat in Sydney? Thank you for saying yes Gilli.
And just as we thought we would be getting our lives back to normal, the whole world joined us in a stop-start life full of many dramatic events, lockdowns, losing loved ones, and nearly losing loved ones in dramatic health events. Nat and I cancelled the first wedding in 2019 and shifted our plans. Cancelled in 2020 and shifted our plans, cancelled in 2021 and shifted our plans and now in 2022, we miss everybody. It has been too long between drinks and we can’t think of a better excuse than a pair of weddings to bring us all together.
We are still here, we are still nauseatingly happy and we want to celebrate life and love with you, our awesome family and friends.
